Adding Money to a Pool

How to add money to a Pool

Who can add money

You can add money to any Pool where you're an Owner, an Admin, or a Spender. Viewers can't add money.

How to add money

  1. Sign in at Poolmoney.com and select the Pool you want to add money to.

  2. Select +Add Money.

  3. Enter the amount you want to add, the source account, and add a note.

  4. Select Add Money to confirm.

Adding money to the same Pool every week or month? Set up a recurring deposit and we'll handle it automatically.

Your authorization

By selecting Add Money on the confirmation screen, you authorize Pool to debit your linked bank account for the amount and from the source account shown.

We'll send you an email confirming your deposit, which serves as your record of this authorization. Once a debit has been submitted to the ACH network, it cannot be recalled.

How and when your deposit happens

Initiation

We submit each debit in the next ACH file generated after you confirm. If you confirm before our daily file cutoff on a business day, your debit will be included in that day's file.

Funds availability

Once initiated, funds usually arrive in your Pool within 1–3 business days. In some cases, they can take up to 5 business days. For example, around bank holidays, long weekends, or if bank processing is delayed.

Bank holidays and weekends

ACH debits don't process on weekends or federal holidays. If you confirm on a non-business day, your debit will initiate on the next business day. You don't need to take any action.

See the list of federal bank holidays

  • New Year's Day: January 1

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: third Monday in January

  • Presidents Day: third Monday in February

  • Memorial Day: last Monday in May

  • Juneteenth National Independence Day: June 19

  • Independence Day: July 4

  • Labor Day: first Monday in September

  • Columbus Day: second Monday in October

  • Veterans Day: November 11

  • Thanksgiving Day: fourth Thursday in November

  • Christmas Day: December 25

When a holiday falls on a weekend, banks generally observe it on the nearest weekday. See the Federal Reserve holiday schedule for the official observance dates.

If something goes wrong

Insufficient funds

If your bank reports that your account doesn't have enough funds to cover the debit, your deposit will fail and we'll notify you by email. Your Pool balance will not be affected.

Other declined debits

If your bank declines the debit for any other reason, such as account closed, account frozen, authorization revoked, or stop payment, your deposit will fail and we'll notify you.

Account unlinked or Pool closed

If the linked bank account is removed or the Pool is closed before the debit is submitted, your deposit will not process.

Limits and fees

No fees: adding money is free.

Platform limits: Transfer limits apply per transaction, day, week, and month. If a scheduled deposit would exceed any limit, the deposit will fail and we will notify you.
