Pool has four member roles: Owner, Admin, Spender, and Viewer. The Owner is the member who created the Pool or received ownership through a transfer. Owners and Admins manage member roles and permissions.

Member roles and permissions are usually not available with traditional joint accounts.

Pool can be used by couples, families, roommates, friends, and groups who want a simple way to organize shared money, track activity, and make purchases related to a shared purpose.

Many people use Pool because they want the benefits of managing money together without the commitment, complexity, or permanence of a traditional joint account.

A member who leaves or is removed loses access to the Pool. Their virtual card for the Pool will no longer work, and their physical card can no longer be used to spend from it. Their physical card can still be used with their Personal balance and other Pools where they have permission to spend. Their account and routing numbers for the Pool can no longer be used, and their recurring deposits into it are canceled.

Owners and Admins can remove other members.

Removing the Owner: The current Owner must first transfer ownership to another member. The new Owner can then remove the former Owner.

If a member joins again with a role that allows spending, they’ll need to set up a new virtual card. Any recurring deposits they want to make again must be set up again.
